Fall Trip To CO: Day 4 – Capitol Hill, Denver

The final day of our trip was spent relaxing around the Capitol Hill neighborhood where our Airbnb was. The weather finally felt like Fall instead of Summer and was the perfect crisp day. We enjoyed a local coffee shop, indulged in brunch, and watched MSU beat the Hoosiers before we packed up to head back to Michigan.

Brunch: Jelly

  • I’m a sucker for eggs benedict and this did not disappoint. They had an excellent fall inspired spiked chai latte and delicious made-to-order doughnut bites, which we order to go because we were so stuffed from our meal.

  • Busy in the mornings for brunch so get there early. If you run into a wait, walk across the street to Hudson Hill for some pre-brunch cocktails or coffee.

Breakfast cocktails & coffee: Hudson Hill

  • The perfect combination of sexy & cute and I think Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell would agree. But seriously- exposed brick, raw wood, vibrant tile, natural lighting, hanging greenery, coffee, cocktails, and pastries. Coffee shop perfection!

Flight Home: Spirit Airlines

  • My go-to airline. Cheap flights = more adventures!

Round trip under $100.

Tips:

  • For weekend trips, skip the carry-on bag and go with the free personal bag (the size that fits under your seat). I’ll admit, I am not a light packer so this is a challenge for sure but it’s 100% doable. Bring shoes that you can wear with multiple outfits, roll your clothes, wear bulky items and you’ll be golden!
  • If you do buy a carry-on or checked bag, buy it the same time that you purchase your tickets- pricing will only go up the closer you get to your trip date.
  • Traveling solo? Don’t pay to hand pick your seat. Skip this step and let them seat you at check in and you won’t have to pay an additional fee each way. I promise you’ll still get there, you’ll just be the last group to board.
